NABTEB now Valid to Jamb for Candidate

The National Technical Certificate (NTC), the Advanced National Technical Certificate(ANTC), the National Business Certificate (NBC), the Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC) and the Modular Trade Certificate( MTC) issued by the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) are valid, recognised and acceptable for the purpose of admission by JAMB as prescribed by law. However, what is not recognised, approved or known to law is the NABTEB Advanced General Certificate in Education (NAGCE). The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is constrained to make this clarification to remove all doubts as towhat is acceptable or otherwise. The Board advises candidates who have the right certification from NABTEB and other recognised bodies to pursue their admissions dreams without any hindrance.

JAMB 2022 UTME/DE: JAMB ADOPTS NEW USSD CODE FOR REGISTRATION

As part of the intensive preparations for a hitch-free 2022 UTME/DE registration exercise,the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is putting finishing touches to all arrangements for the institution of an additional USSD code to be used by candidates besides the 55019 code that had been in operation since 2018 for registration and other essential services offered by the Board. The 55019 code is used to create profiles for registration by candidates who are required to send their National Identification Number (NIN) via the code for their details to be pulled from the NIMC database before proceeding to a certified Center for their biometric capturing. To ensure that there is no congestion during Registration when many Candidates would be sending their request via 55019 for the 2022/23 UTME/DE Registration and Examination,the Board has concluded arrangements to have an alternative code with a similar function for the benefit of candidates should they encounter any...

WAEC Releases Withheld Results

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC has announced the immediate release of withheld results of candidates, exonerated of malpractices during the conduct of West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2020 – Second Series and WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2021- First Series. This is as the body at the end of the 72th meeting of the Nigeria Examinations Committee, NEC, vowed to sanction those indicted of any malpractice during the conduct of the examinations. The Committee is the highest decision-making organ on examinations related matters in Nigeria. JAMB Rejects Apology Of Timipade Kemepade, Candidate Who Cheated 21 Years Ago

A repentant candidate named Mr. Timipade Kemepade has written to the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) asking for forgiveness owing to his involvement in examination malpractice in the course of obtaining the result of the University Matriculation Examination (UME) now Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that he sat twenty-one years ago. JAMB in its latest bulletin stated that the candidate blamed youthful exuberance for his misconduct. The letter read in part: “With regret and sincere apology to JAMB, 1, Timipade Kemepade, with Certificate No. 33208803GA confess that l participated in examination malpractice 21 years ago while sitting my JAMB examination.” The letter continued , “I, therefore, seek the forgiveness of JAMB. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board on Monday announced that the registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and the Direct Entry examination will commence by February 12, 2022. The board made this known in its weekly bulletin released by its Director of Public Relations, Dr Fabian Benjamin. In the timeline of events attached to the bulletin, the board announced that the “UTME/DE registration starts 12th February 2022 and ends 19th March 2022. Mock examination holds on 20th April 2022. ASUU READY FOR TOTAL SHUTDOWN OF UNIVERSITIES

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has again indicated that if the federal government does not implement its Memorandum of Action, MoA, by January ending, they will likely shut down universities. Speaking with Vanguarde in an interview, the Union’s president, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, said the union was waiting for the period of grace given to lapse before taking the necessary steps. “ As a responsible union, we are consulting widely on the issues at stake. We have an MoA that is yet to be implemented fully and we also have the renegotiation of the 2007 Agreement pending. A lot of groups and concerned individuals have stepped in to intervene in the matter. “We are responsible unionists and citizens and we must give room to those interventions; may be they can help persuade the government to do the needful. I almost gave up: Unilag student who bagged first class says he refused to quit

Another fresh University of Lagos, UNILAG First Class Graduate, Oluwapelumi Oluyide has revealed that he almost gave up in school because of the challenges he encountered. According to Oluwapelumi, he almost gave up because when he started school, he was putting so much effort into his studies at the school but still recorded marks that wouldn’t really give him a first-class. He, however, revealed that the pandemic that happened in 2020, gave him more time to restrategize.
