UNICAL Supplementary Post-UTME Screening Date, Time, Venues and arrangement for 2021/2022. Academic Session has been released. See the exam day, time and venue for all courses below. The management of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Post-UTME Screening Schedule for the 2021/2022 academic session has been scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 19th 2022. The registration portal will be shut down on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 by 12:00 midnight. Candidates are advised to check the Portal for their venue and time of the CBT. Please note the following: 1. We advice candidates to go with their UTME result slip 2. The Post UTME exercise is Computer Based Test (CBT) 3. Any candidate who fails to take part in the screening exercise automatically loses his or her chance of being considered for admission. 4. Impersonation is a serious offence and anyone caught will be handed over to the Law Enforcement Agents and may be liable to up to 5 years imprisonment.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) decision on whether to commence an indefinite strike action or not as we learned will finally be taken at a meeting of the national executive council (NEC) members which is to hold by 12 midnight on Sunday. The meeting, which is tagged “NEC for NEC”, is an extension of an ongoing two-day meeting of NEC members which has been reviewing the positions of each of the branches of the union on the sensitive matter of whether to declare industrial action or not.The NEC meeting, which commenced on Saturday at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, was a follow-up to earlier public engagement and sensitization congress meetings of the various branches which necessitated the declaration of lecture-free periods across the various campuses. The union had earlier hinted it would communicate its decision to the media on Monday.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities has urged its chapters across the country to sensitise members of the public on the situation between the union and the Federal Government. This is as it declared Monday, February 7, 2022, as a lecture-free day in a bid to enhance the sensitisation. The National President of the Union, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent on Saturday evening. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it would soon embark on an indefinite strike to press home their demands one month after it suspended a nine-month-old strike. Dr Lazarus Maigoro, Chiarman of the University of Jos chapter of the Union, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Jos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the union suspended a nine-month-old industrial action in December 2020. NAN reports that ASUU embarked on an earlier strike over the failure of Federal Government to address all the issues raised in the 2009 agreement it entered with the union.Maigoro, who described the Federal Government as an “unfaithful spouse”, said the union would not relent until the standard of education is uplifted in the country.
